Kerala flood relief effort
Our parish raises thousands in charity drive for Kerala flood relief
Our parish members, led by our vicar Rev. Fr. Bijo Varghese, observed a day for fasting and prayer on Friday 17 Aug.
Church Youth Association members showed the wonderful display of community spirit and concern via the flash mob. This helped in getting people's attention on the recent flood in Kerala and the relief effort that the church has embarked to support families whose lives have been destroyed as a result of this terrible disaster.
Church has raised around 20,000 dollars for this effort.
As part of charity drive, seventeen families who had lost their livestock and livelihood were identified with help of priests of local churches. Cows were purchased and provided to these families.
